Studio X (“Studio X Uganda”, “we”, “us”) operates a professional photo studio at Room NW-18, Akamwesi Shopping Mall, Gayaza Road, Kasangati, Kampala, Uganda, and the website you are currently viewing. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website and our studio services, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Information we collect

When you register for a client account, book a session, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, phone number, email address, and the details of your booking (session type, date, and any notes you provide). If you message us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number and the content of that conversation. When you use your client account, we store the photo galleries created for your sessions so you can view and download your images. Like most websites, we also collect limited technical data automatically — pages visited, device/browser type, and approximate location inferred from IP address — through cookies and analytics tools.

Cookies and Google AdSense

This site displays advertisements served by Google and its advertising partners through the Google AdSense program. Google and third-party vendors use cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other sites across the internet. This helps show you ads that are more relevant, and helps us keep the site free to use. These vendors may also collect information through cookies or similar technologies for ad measurement and personalization.

You can control how Google personalizes ads shown to you, or opt out of personalized advertising entirely, by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com. How client photos and gallery data are used

Photos taken during your session are stored securely and linked to your client account so that only you (and staff who manage bookings) can access them. We do not sell client photos or personal data to third parties. With your consent, we may feature select images in our public portfolio or marketing (see our Terms of Use for how to opt out). Where a session includes minors, images and gallery access are provided to the accompanying parent or guardian who booked the session, and we rely on that guardian’s consent to deliver and, where applicable, showcase the images.

Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party services such as Google Maps, Instagram, YouTube, or WhatsApp. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites — please review their own privacy policies before sharing information with them.

Children’s privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data online from children under 13. Studio X does photograph minors during family, graduation, and event sessions, but only when a parent or guardian books and attends the session; gallery access is granted to that adult, not to the child directly.

Your rights under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019

As a Ugandan business, we process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019. You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and object to certain uses (such as marketing use of your images). If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may also lodge a complaint with Uganda’s National Personal Data Protection Office (NPDPO).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services or legal obligations change. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
